Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), Chittagong has decided to launch air-conditioned buses in the city very shortly.
BRTC, at a meeting held at the office of the Commissioner of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) recently, resolved to operate comfortable premier AC bus service in the port city.
50 buses will be brought under the service at the initial stage and a specific guideline is being framed for the purpose.
In a bid to facilitating comfortable journey to the passengers and halting different irregularities committed by the CNG-run taxi drivers, such an initiative has been undertaken, BRTC sources said.
BRTC also agreed to comply with the decision of refixing bus fare in view of reduction of fuel price.
